In plain language, here’s what I want you to know:
Like most other sites on the internet, this site uses “cookies” to gather information about how users are actually using my site. This helps me know what pages people actually look at, what links get clicked, what posts are popular, how long people stay on my site, things like that. You are in control of whether this information is gathered, and you can change your settings at any time. Learn more about cookies here.
Although I don’t currently run ads on my site, I may choose to run ads in the future. If I run ads with Google, then Google may use these cookies to target you with their advertisements (this is what happens when you look at a dress online and then suddenly you see that ad when you browse Instagram. Seems like magic, but it’s just Google).
I also collect some information when you sign up for something on my site. If you sign up for free content then you will have given me your email address and name. I use an email service provider called MailChimp that stores this information. I will send you emails periodically with information about new posts, offers, and other information relevant to my site and business. I never give away your information, nor do I send spammy stuff. Who likes that?
Most importantly, you have the right to have your information removed from these services (your right to be forgotten). You can email me anytime and request to have your information removed from MailChimp. You can also unsubscribe from mailing lists by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email.
If you are here for online counselling, there are a few additional things to be aware of. I use a highly secure online platform called Counsol.com to store all documents and information relating to counselling. I do not retain any physical forms at all for this business. You can read more about the security of the Counsol.com platform by following the link.
Here’s a little more information:
Like many other Web sites, www.kateborsato.com makes use of log files. These files merely logs visitors to the site – usually a standard procedure for hosting companies and a part of hosting services’s analytics. The information inside the log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date/time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. This information is used to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movement around the site, and gather demographic information. IP addresses, and other such information are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable.
